Today we took the train into St Louis and attended a St Louis Cardinals vs the Philadelphia Phillies baseball game. The weather was great, upper 60's and sunny.
Unloading from the train and making our way literally across the street to the stadium was indeed a "sea of red" with both the Cardinal fans and any Phillies fans both sporting red apparel.
The stadium filled steadily but was definitely not full, maybe due to the game being during the week and shortly after noon. This is a panoramic I took from our seats:
Here is another couple shots:
We plan to sample a "dog and a brew" at each of the eight ballparks we will visit this summer and rate them. I give this one a 5 of 10. The dog was not bad, good size and flavor, but not real warm and the bun was soggy.
We left at the middle of the 7th inning as we had a 42 minute train ride back to the base and our puppy would be ready for a potty break. St Louis was up 1-0 but they scored 3 at the bottom of the 7th and ended up winning the game 4-0.
We hit the Scott AFB Lake again tonight and hooked several small bass. The last bass we caught would be a keeper, but all large mouth bass are catch and release here, so sent her back to the abyss to make more little basses!
Awesome! Love that stadium, too. So pretty.
