Packing up. Doreen did a load of laundry, plus they had a big machine so she did our bedspread. Then to town to McD's to get WiFi so I could get caught up on the past few days blog. She got groceries.
Tonight we
Matt and I were both assigned to the 3396th Student Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base Biloxi MS from July to Dec 1973. He was attending Avionics repair school and I was attending ground radio repair school. His barracks room was right across the hall from my room. We were both on "A" shift, so we went to school from 0600-1200 hrs M-F and had the rest of the day off to study or whatever we needed to do. So Friday at noon we were done for the week. That usually translated into a friendly nickel-dime poker game in the barracks, usually in Matt's room, usually involving smoking some fine cigars and drinking some beers! We had a blast and became great friends. Matt came to Des Moines to attend our wedding and we had seen him again in the early 80's when we traveled to Vermont for a wedding. Other than that it has been a long time since we have seen each other. We have kept in contact via Christmas cards and now social media.
Tomorrow we head to Geneva OH and our next campground. Iowa is getting closer!
Aloha!
