2 Aug - Portland Maine: Cape Elizabeth Two Lights, Portland Head Light

2 Aug
Today Ernie and Rhonda Souther came down to the  campground and we car pooled to Portland ME. It was couple hour drive down there from the campgrounds.  The first stop was Cape Elizabeth Two Lights .  There are two "twin" lighthouses here, a beautiful view of the coast and a nice little restaurant.  Lighthouses up here are many times called "lights" or "headlights"
One of the two "twin" lights.

Facility that generates a fog horn sound.  Notice the huge "speaker" to the left of the building.

Amazing rocks on the shore.  They look like petrified wood that has been cut with a chain saw.  Incredible!

Ed, Doreen and Lorie checking out the rocks.

Good lookin' group!

Livin' the Dream!!
So after visiting the Two Lights, we had lunch there at a nice little restaurant.  I had to try the lobster rolls, of course!  That is a bun (roll) with lobster (salad) on it.  Very good!
Doreen and the lighthouse at the restaurant.  She thinks she wants one of these in here front yard at Norwalk!
After lunch we traveled to the Portland Head Light.  This is supposedly the "most photographed lighthouse in the United States.  Once we arrived, I can see why.

Incredible!

Breathtaking view of Portland Head Light

Doreen and her "boys" from Loring!

Loring boyz from 1974-1977.  Who would have thought we would have kept in touch for so many years and gotten back together here in 2016!  True friends.

Priceless selfie!
After visiting Portland Head Light we headed back to the campground and enjoyed an evening with a nice campfire on the banks of the Dead River.  Reminisce can't describe it!  Amazing the names and events that were recalled!  What a blast!  We literally laughed for hours!  Priceless!
